Pest Control Paarl

Professional Pest Control from Paarl to Pretoria

Sunny South Africa’s wonderful climate and weather is appreciated by all its human inhabitants, and equally so by its pest species. They thrive as much or more than human beings who live in this country, because conditions are relatively warm and favourable for them throughout the year. This means that there are constant and plentiful food sources, abundant shelter and nesting opportunities to suit all species, including those which present a nuisance or danger to humans when they invade buildings, gardens and public areas.

Pest Control throughout the Country

Because of the proliferation of insects and other pests in the southern African landscape, our company, Bugman Pest Control, has outlets virtually throughout the country. We started our operation in and around Johannesburg, but demand for our expertise has been responsible for franchised expansion.

We’re expertly represented in Johannesburg South, North and East, Pretoria, Mpumalanga and the Boland, where we operate mainly in Franschhoek, Pniel, Wellington, Paarl and surrounding areas.

Insect are ubiquitous and prolific breeders throughout the world, which is estimated to have more than a million species, of which some 100 000 occur in South Africa. Without a doubt, not all have yet been identified and/or recorded; new species are still being discovered from time to time.

Different types of bugs prefer certain areas of this country, although some are endemic to all regions. Factors such as overpopulation of colonies, shrinking habitat and shifting weather patterns may cause some to migrate to areas in which a particular breed was formerly scarce.

Shongololos in Paarl

Not too long ago, the number of shongololos (the most common millipede found in South Africa, known as a Duisendpoot in Afrikaans) appear to have reached alarming proportions in the Boland region of the Western Cape.

In Paarl, in particular, infestations of these multi-legged, multi-segmented creatures were reported by residents and a local pest controller in an interview on a community radio station. Although millipedes aren’t hazardous, they may have nuisance value and are said to cause a bad smell if they gather and die en masse.

Shongololos may live for up to 10 years in optimal conditions, feeding on decomposing plant matter and remaining in a general area until their food source is exhausted, forcing them to move.

Our Services

It should be kept in mind that it’s generally not possible to eradicate pests completely with only one treatment; effective control requires multiple periodic treatments, the frequency of which depends on the species, season and type/area of infestation. Some of the species about which we’re most often consulted, include the following:

  • Scorpions and spiders
  • Wasps and hornets
  • Bees
  • Birds
  • Ants and termites
  • Flies and maggots
  • Worms
  • Weevils
  • Ticks and fleas
  • Rats and mice
  • Bed bugs
  • Dust mites
  • Crickets and Parktown prawns
  • Mosquitoes
  • Fish moths
  • Cockroaches

Types of Control Methods

Our teams of specialised pest controllers are experienced and trained to recognise exactly which species or even sub-species is problematic, and how best to control it – be it via residual spray, fumigation, baits, glue boards, attractants or preventative physical barriers.

Whether you’re in Pretoria, Paarl, Johannesburg, or anywhere in between, contact us for an expert solution, as soon as you become aware of a pest problem.
